Today Palm made version 1.2 of webOS available to users of the Palm Pre. webOS 1.2 offers a wealth of new features that include LinkedIn and more IM platform support for Synergy. Other improvements include the ability to filter emails via inbox, download files from the browser, download Amazon MP3s via Wi-Fi or 3G, pause podcasts, tap-to-call contacts in calendar appointments and cut-and-paste from web pages. The update will also allow users to pay for apps in the Palm Apps Catalog (credit card required). webOS 1.2 is a free update and will be pushed out over the air automatically.

webOS 1.2 causes battery drain

Myself as well as quite a few others are experiencing battery drain, my battery drains without using any apps. Since I updated this afternoon, my phone has died twice. This is a major problem, Palm needs to fix this NOW!!!

Palm, if you're aware of this, DO NOT sit on your hands. Many people will jump to the Hero in a few weeks.
Yeah, I woke up this morning to a dead battery. This has not happened prior to the 1.2 update.

And still no

Video recording
on screen keyboard (without a hack)
Flashing LED notifications (without hack)

My review gave this device five star...

Yaaaa for copy and paste!

you guys were bitching that the iPhone didnt have copy and paste at launch and the Pre didn't come with copy and paste? Laughing hypocrites.
WebOS is maturing a whole lot faster than the Iphone! That's for sure.

Palm Pre OS1.2 What about iTunes

So what happened with iTunes? Does this new upgrade do anything about iTunes.
Unfortunately, Palm cannot force Apple to allow iTunes access. Apple doesn't want Pre users to be able to use iTunes, so they're not going to be able to use iTunes for the time being.
