Today Verizon Wireless and Samsung announced the Rogue messaging device. Customers interested in this phone will have to subscribe to a minimum $10 monthly data plan. The $10 allows for 25MB of data. Users can also opt for a $20 plan that provides for 75MB of data if they wish. Previously, mandatory data plans were reserved only for smart or advanced phones. Verizon hasn't said if/when more of its features phones will require this new data plan.

And so it begins...

As data/voice have always been optional 'features', now they are required components, driving up the cost of wireless for users.

Don't know if any AT&T reps noticed this but...

Our UNLIMITED data plan on non PDA/Smartphones is just $15 if unlimited text isn't on the plan and $10 if unlimited text is on the plan. 25K and 75K... My espn app burns thru that much in a couple hours...
Finally AT&T haters can't be mad at us for requiring unlimited data on our smartphones. Verizon is charging the same price for our unllimited family data plan.

Unlimited data for Verizon is 10 with unlimited texting, it used to be 15 ala carte.

espnmvp will be part of the Vcast VOD, which is unlimited usage (for that program) for $10 a month. This does not include web surfing.
