Nokia Tweaks Organizational Structure
Nokia today said that it is adding a new division to its organization that will help the disparate units act more cohesively and offer more complete hardware and service combinations. The Solutions unit, to be headed by Alberto Torres, currently head of Devices Category Management, will tie together Nokia's device offerings with its service offerings and create a more seamless user experience for all the products involved. The unit will begin operations October 1, 2009.
Nokia Makes HERE Sale to Audi, BMW, Daimler Official
Nokia today formally announced the sale of its HERE Maps business unit to a consortium of three German auto makers. Audi, BMW, and Daimler have agreed to buy HERE Maps for $3 billion.

Nokia Names New CEO, New Strategy
Nokia's board of directors have elected Rajeev Suri to the position of President and CEO of Nokia. Suri, who has been with Nokia since 1995 and has led its network business from 2009, will take his new role on May 1.
Microsoft Downsizes, Kills off Nokia X
Microsoft today announced a sweeping company-wide re-organization that includes major changes to the mobile device business acquired from Nokia. Of Microsoft's 18,000 layoffs today, 12,500 are within the former Nokia units.
