Verizon Wireless Offers Integrated PTT and Land Mobile Radio

Today Verizon Wireless announced a new offering for public safety and other agencies that rely on Land Mobile Radio systems for communication. Verizon, by partnering with Catalyst Communications, is offering push-to-talk interoperability with LMR systems. This will provide public safety agencies with a much larger footprint for effective communication by having access to Verizon's network as either a back-up or primary means of communication in addition to the LMR. Verizon is offering a number of different plan options that include combinations of PTT, normal voice, and the LMR systems already in place.

so can Vzw PTT and Sprint Nextel Direct Connect work with each othere?
It's designed for mainly government agencies to be able to interoperate communications-wise across otherwise incompatible two-way radio systems. They can each keep their existing two-way radio systems for their everyday intra-departmental use, then wh...
