Nokia Starts Shipping the N97
Today Nokia announced that it has begun shipping the N97, its flagship multimedia phone for 2009. The N97 has both a touch display and a full QWERTY keyboard. Nokia says it is the first Nokia handset to come with a fully customizable home screen. It will also have access to the full range of Ovi services. The N97 should be available in more than 75 countries by the end of June.

HMD Global — the new custodian of the Nokia brand for phones — today announced three new Android-based Nokia phones. Nokia 6: Already released in China, this 5.5-inch-screen, metal-bodied phone will released globally for 229 euros.

Samsung and Nokia have both recently made available launchers for Android devices that serve as alternatives to their normal approach for home screen behavior. Terrain (pictured) comes from a Samsung-sponsored developer and is free to download from the Google Play Store.
