Today Good Technology announced that it has acquired Intercasting Corporation. Good Technology, which was formerly known as Visto before Visto bought Good from Motorola earlier this year, says the acquisition will allow it to greatly expand its service footprint. Intercasting has a mobile platform called Anthem that ties together social networks, email services, instant messaging providers, content providers, application developers, mobile operators, and device manufacturers. Anthem is already used by many of the top-tier network operators in the U.S., including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless, to provide access to social networking sites and services. Good believes that its mobile push technology combined with Intercasting's platform will allow for it to provide more types of mobile services to more mobile devices around the world. Good previously was only able to offer services to certain smartphone platforms. This acquisition will allow Good to offer mobile communication services to feature phones, as well. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
