Qualcomm announced that it has added chipsets specifically for femtocells to its product road map. Qualcomm's Femtocell Station Modem chipsets will be able to run 3GPP HSPA+ and CDMA 1X, EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B. They will contain basebands and RF capabilities for all the major wireless bands. The chipsets will also be able to analyze and minimize interference between femtocells and the larger macro cell network. The chips will sample in the second quarter of 2010.
