LG today announced a new UI for its touch phones called S-Class, along with three new phones using the new UI. S-Class features a spinning 3D cube, photos grouped by day taken, and a rolodex interface for flipping through music and photos. The main menu features rows of icons that individually slide sideways to reveal more icons. Each row groups together a specific catgory of apps. The first three LG phones to use S-Class will be:

  • Arena: The first phone with S-Class. Features include a 3-inch WVGA display, Dolby Mobile sound, DivX video, TV-output, Wi-Fi, 8 GB of built-in memory, and support for memory cards up to 32 GB.
  • GM730: A Windows Mobile device with an S-Class UI layer. Also features a location-based chat feature.
  • GD900: A touch phone with a unique fully transparent slide-out keypad.
  • The company also announced plans to bring S-Class to ten total new models this year, including models for North America.
