Seven Brings its Email Software to Android
Today Seven announced a new version of its mobile email product for the Android platform. The email program combines the ability to handle corporate email (Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino) as well as POP3/IMAP email syncing, including contacts and calendar information. Users will be able to search through the contacts database, as well as add, edit and delete calendar appointments. The software will be made available to network operators and handset manufacturers to embed and enable on end-user handsets.

Samsung recently made a new productivity app called Samsung Focus available to its Android devices. Focus handles basic productivity functions, including email, calendar, contacts, tasks, and memos all in a single application.
Gmail for Android Gains Microsoft Exchange Support
Google today said the global Android Gmail app is set to add support for Microsoft Exchange. "Whether you're on Google Apps or Exchange, you can use the Gmail app on any Android device to send and receive mail," said Google in a blog post.

Google Puts Generic Android Email App in Play Store
Google has added another core Android application to the growing list of those that can be updated outside of full-on system upgrades. Google made the generic email application that ships on many Android phones (separate from the official Gmail app) available as a stand-alone app in the Play Store.
Outlook Web App for Android Available to Limited Phones
Microsoft today followed through on a promise it made earlier this year to deliver an Android version of its Outlook Web App. Outlook Web App is an email application that offers all the features and functionality of Microsoft's Exchange ActiveSync technology.
