Free Visual Voicemail for BlackBerries Available from YouMail
Consumer mobile email provider YouMail introduced a new, free visual voicemail product for BlackBerry smartphones today. Visual Voicemail Plus will run on the Pearl, Bold, Curve, Storm and other models and works in conjunction with YouMail's desktop client. Visual Voicemail Plus will let users see a list of their voicemails, select which ones they want to listen to, share voicemails through email or forwarding, post voicemails to blogs, and manage/archive voicemails. YouMail will also provide transcribed versions of voicemails via the user's email account, and voicemails will also be readable online. The application will initially be available to customers running BlackBerry OS version 4.3 or later on T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and AT&T Wireless phones. The download is free.

Sprint today announced a new service that will allow customers to add animations and avatars to their voicemail messages. The service is available to Sprint, Boost Mobile, and Virgin Mobile USA customers with select Android handsets.
