Today Verizon Wireless completes its purchase of all Alltel . The company now has 83.7 million customers, and is now the largest wireless carrier in US, covering 290 million people.
T-Mobile's LTE Network Covers 300 Million People
T-Mobile said its LTE 4G network now reaches 300 million Americans, a significant milestone for the Uncarrier. The company says it is ahead of schedule, and will add coverage to one million square miles this year.
Sprint Falls to Become No. 4 US Carrier
Sprint reported its second quarter earnings today and the numbers reveal it has fallen behind competitor T-Mobile in the total number of customers. T-Mobile, which gained a total of 2 million new customers during the second quarter, reported a total customer base on 58.9 million.
Verizon Debuts LTE Advanced with 50% Faster Speeds
Verizon Wireless today said it has launched LTE Advanced service in 461 markets around the country, covering some 288 million POPs or 90% of Americans. Verizon's LTE Advanced relies on two- and three-channel carrier aggregation to boost speed and capacity.
AT&T Says VoLTE Available to 295 Million Americans
AT&T today said it has reached a new milestone in expanding VoLTE service. As 2015 comes to a close, VoLTE is available to a footprint covering some 295 million POPs, says AT&T, and the service has won over 27 million active users.

US Cellular will make a huge play for the divested markets and are going to use that and the spectrum holdings to open new markets over the next two years.
