Wireless Industry Pitches FCC On Intercarrier Traffic Reform

Wireless network operators and other telecom companies are lobbying the FCC to change the rules governing how fees are to be applied to traffic that transits other carriers' networks. One of the changes sought include regulating IP-based voice traffic on the federal level. Another change is to set industry-wide, standard fees that would apply to all intercarrier traffic at new, lower rates than those being levied today.
