T-Mobile in Europe announced a new smartphone from HTC, the MDA Compact IV. The design of this phone will be exclusive to T-Mobile in Europe, though other versions of the phone may become available to countries outside of Europe. The MDA Compact IV has the latest version of HTC's 3D touch interface and pairs it with a VGA screen. It will run Windows Mobile 6.1, and carries a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and 4GB of internal memory. The Compact IV will be able to access T-Mobile's HSDPA/HSUPA network at speeds of 7.2 Mbps, and it has integrated GPS. If a version of this phone is made available in the U.S., it may or may not come with all the features listed here.

MDA Vario IV

The T-Mobile MDA Vario IV is the other device which was revealed at the conference. It's based on the rumored and yet unannounced HTC Raphael platform. HTC themselves haven't announced a commercial device based on that platform, so the MDA Vario IV in a way gives a glimpse of a future HTC handset too.

The T-Mobile MDA Vario IV will obviously hit on the HTC TyTN II since its main accent is the full sliding QWERTY keyboard - surprisingly the thickness of the device however has been kept to 18mm.

The MDA Vario IV is a communication expert, offering a tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS support and full HSDPA 7.2Mbps. On top of this are the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB, and GPS connectivity.

The device runs on Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professiona...

This is the phone I'm interested in. IMO This will be the 3G (once 3G comes to your area) PDA phone to have for T-Mo customers... the question is ... when?

I'm still wishing HTC would make a double-slide phone with a touch screen. The Touch Dual ...

Ahh HTC

So get this... last year I went to the launch party that was held by HTC. We all got Wings for free.... so we had that going for us... which is nice. They starting rushing through the specs, and immediately after they metioned onboard memory the hands went up. Why this and not that, etc.
🤣
Then the HTC Rep that was overseeing the seminar told alot of us to our face that HTC cuold make the most amazing phone ever, but doesn't due to costs. What about one that is half as good as the best phone ever?
That works for me. So, where are these HTC conventions at? I wanna go to one so I can get a free PDA.
