Today AT&T announced that users of its LaptopConnect wireless broadband services will also have free Wi-Fi access at any location where AT&T provides the Wi-Fi. LaptopConnect users need to download the latest manager software, which will then alert users when free Wi-Fi is available. In order to receive the free Wi-Fi, LaptopConnect subscribers will need to have the $60 per month plan.

Free Wi-Fi with Dell Wireless 5520 miniPCI card

So i noticed that the "free wifi" option seems to only be accessible thru the AT&T communication manager, which only seems to work on specific laptop connect cards, or USB dongles.

I went the geek route and got the Dell Wireless 5520 miniPCI WWAN card embedded under my keyboard, with a SIM card underneath my battery. I do not use AT&T communication manager, so i am curious to find out if i can still get free wifi under this offer?

Any ideas? Does anyone from AT&T monitor these threads?
