Apple: The iPhone Has Sold Out

Apple officially confirmed that the iPhone has sold out at its U.S. and U.K. online stores. It did state, however, that the iPhone is still available at its brick-and-mortar locations, as well as at AT&T Mobility retail outlets. An Apple spokesperson did not elaborate on the reasons why both the 8GB and 16GB versions of the iPhone have sold out at its online stores, nor if a new version will be launching soon to replace the first-generation device.

It will not do me any good to buy another iphone with 3g if 3g is not up in my area. ATT is way behind in getting 3g out to all of its customers. Happiness is knowing that your phone is the best for what you use it for. I use my iphone for the ipod and internet browsing and checking emails and checking the weather and etc... The Iphone is the best phone for how I use it. But I won't be standing in line to give Steve Jobs any more money. Unless they have a TV remote built in this time. Come on, a TV remote would be nice Mr. Steve Jobs. What's the holdup?

they hyped up the original to an unrealistic frenzy, and they are doing the same now. the iphone2 will be out in time for summer to end and kids to go back to school and college, and all the sheep, i mean media, are going to hop on board the apple cart and say that it's the must have back to school item, and then they'll release one with another feature for christmas time.

OK... I know I am beating a dead horse...
The 3G iPhone is coming. Apple usually ceases sale of current gen products when the next version is released. They probably ramped down production of the current iPhone while ago.
