Today Cricket announced that Oklahoma City will be its first full AWS 1700 MHz market. Cricket has 98 cell sites up and running in the area, and is opening 5 direct stores in the Oklahoma City area, as well as 58 other locations. It will offer new AWS handsets and a tri-band wireless modem for data. Cricket's wireless rate plans range from $35 to $60 per month. This new market will be the first of many for Cricket as it begins to expand with the spectrum it purchased in 2006's AWS spectrum auction.

T-Mobile what is taking you so long?!

This is very discouraging. A regional CDMA carrier launching AWS services first, while a GSM national carrier can't even give launch details or their status about when they will have 3G up. We all know they say "Its coming" but WHEN!!!! 😡
