Qualcomm Buys Xiam Technologies

Qualcomm announced that it has agreed to acquire Xiam Technologies. Xiam's main product, called My Personal Offer System, will help Qualcomm's handset and carrier partners better target content and advertisements to end users. MPOS uses demographic, contextual and behavioral profiling to create one-to-one mobile advertising programs. Qualcomm is paying $32 million for the company.

premium messages galore!

wow ... they're trying to do a sniffer for the consumer accounts, and what are they trying to access. hope this would not be amount to increase in unwanted premium mesasages, and ultimately charges from premium messages?

if only we could remove those pesky messages not just by texting STOP, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCIBE (which, BTW based on personal experience, rarely works.)
I just read about this in the am paper and was reminded of it here on phonescoop. It seems to me that it's illegal to send (or use a computer to dial and call) to cell phones here in the US any advertising? Am I wrong on this?
I'm with Vz and don't...
