Sprint Offers Firmware Upgrade for LG Rumor

Today Sprint released a firmware upgrade for the LG Rumor. The free upgrade is available both over the air, and at Sprint retail stores. The software will update the text messaging application and overall user interface. To upgrade over the air, simply go into the menu, settings and tools folders to the firmware update application. Sprint recommends that all Rumor users take advantage of the firmware update.

This might be...

A bit old. But this is considering I check a certain a source every other day or so. I have had it a good couple of weeks ir so. I don't see any messaging improvements.. And I get things off PhoneZoo.com a lot.. So what exactly did it improve? All I saw was the icon in the music player had changed and nothing more. Anybody else?

If you really wanna know what this firmware upgrade was supposed to be for, there was a batch of Sprint LG Rumor phones that Sprint tried to keep quiet about. They left the programming/Service Menu opened when they installed the software on this speci...

Warning about this upgrade!

I would NOT suggest doing this "upgrade". This firmware upgrade will take away certain features, like the ability to get ringtones or images from anyone other than Sprint. We've got about 5 complaints already about this "upgrade" actually taking away features and no longer being able to download your own content. Before upgrading, verify that you can downgrade if you have any problems. Also, never upgrade firmware unless you're having a problem anyway. You've been warned!

HA HA!!! FUNNY FUNNY! That is why I wont get that phone... to take away downloadable content like that is well like taking away the right to freedom... shure sprint asked for the phone and paid LG for rights to it BUT never the less their should never...

Retail S/W Upgrade

Please note that not all sprint retail stores have the ability to update s/w. You should call your local store to make sure they can before you go there 🙂
