FCC 700MHz Auction Update
Total bids in the FCC 700MHz auction have jumped to over $6 billion after the third full day, with $3.42 billion bid for the C Block. The C Block has a reserve price of $4.6 billion.
AT&T, Verizon Dominate AWS-3 Auction
The FCC today published a list of companies that placed winning bids for the AWS-3 spectrum auction. The FCC auctioned off 1,600 licenses, for which 70 companies were competing.
AWS-3 Spectrum Auction Over, Bids Total $44.89 Billion
The FCC today said Auction 97, which covered blocks of spectrum in the AWS-3 band, is now over. It received a final bid today for the 1695-1710MHz unpaired spectrum band just a day after it closed bids for the G, H, I, and J paired spectrum blocks.
AT&T Unhappy About Dish's AWS-3 Bidding Tactics
AT&T today accused rival Dish Networks of creating artificial demand for spectrum and raising prices in the recently concluded auction for AWS-3 spectrum. Dish itself did not bid in the auction and instead had three smaller companies participate on its behalf.
FCC's 2016 Reverse Auction Sees Opening Bids Set
The FCC has set opening bids for the 600MHz reverse spectrum auction, scheduled for the middle of 2016. The auction will see television stations give up their spectrum licenses, which will then be sold to wireless companies.
