Yahoo! Widgetizes Its Mobile Platforms

Yahoo today will announce new versions of its mobile homepage as well as its Yahoo! Go applications that will not only refresh the look and the services offered, but will also allow users to add new content using Widgets. Sites like MTV, MySpace and eBay have all built widgets for the refreshed service, and other sites will be able to build their own using a toolkit from Yahoo.
Yahoo Adds Package Tracking to iOS Mail App
Yahoo today announced an update to its Mail App for iOS devices an added the ability to automatically track packages. According to Yahoo, users will see their shipments from Amazon, eBay, Zappos, Target, Best Buy, Macys.com, and others under the "Yahoo Today" section of the app, which will display shipping date, item description, and expected arrival.
Yahoo Improves Search In Mobile Browsers
Yahoo today said it has refreshed how it displays mobile search results in a way that will help people find what they're looking for quicker. Yahoo explains that rather than offer lists of links, the new search presents results — including images, videos, news, and other details — prominently in a way that's more useful.
Yahoo Updates iOS App with More Digital Mag Content
Yahoo today announced a refresh to its iOS application that adds more imagery and content from across its properties. Yahoo says the app is more visually engaging and makes it easier to access articles, polls, and blogs from its digital magazines, such as Yahoo Autos, Yahoo Sports, and others.
Yahoo to Sunset Yet More Products, Intro IMAP Email
Yahoo today indicated the company is taking steps to further reduce the number of products and services it offers. Most of the cutbacks announced by Yahoo today affect localized web sites in South America, Europe, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region.
