Windows Mobile Update Leak Shows New Features

A Motorola Q9h was recently leaked with an updated version of Windows Mobile, a version 6.1. It includes a number of new features including a new home screen similar to the one seen on T-Mobile's Shadow, threaded text messaging and contact search in the messaging "To:" field, as well as copy and paste of text. It was recently revealed that Microsoft would deliver an update for Windows Mobile to manufacturers in the first quarter of 2008, and is likely that this leak is an early version of what Microsoft is preparing.
Microsoft Details Windows 10 Versions
Microsoft today said it will offer seven versions of Windows 10, including one tailored specifically for mobile phones. The versions are called Windows 10 Home, Pro, Mobile, Enterprise, Education, Mobile Enterprise, and IoT Core.
Windows 10 for PCs Lands July 29; No Word On Mobile
Microsoft today announced that Windows 10 will be available as a free download to PCs and tablets on July 29. Most hardware running Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 should be able to upgrade to the new operating system.
Lumia 640 Landing At T-Mobile In Near Future
T-Mobile recently added the Microsoft Lumia 640 to its web site and described the device as "coming soon." Microsoft revealed the Lumia 640 at Mobile World Congress earlier this month. The phone has a 5-inch HD screen, 8-megapixel camera, LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, and Microsoft's productivity apps.
Microsoft Says Older Phones Won't Get Windows 10 Until 2016
Microsoft today said owners of handsets running Windows Phone 8 / 8.1 will have to wait a bit longer to receive Windows 10. The update was originally expected to arrive this month, but Microsoft has now delayed the rollout.
Microsoft Releases Windows 10 Preview to More Phones
Following up an announcement it made last month, Microsoft today made an updated version of the Windows 10 technical preview available to a much wider range of Lumia smartphones. Microsoft delivered an early build of the technical preview to just a few handsets in February.
