Sprint and Google have agreed to work together to provide a set of software services that will work on the WiMAX network that Sprint is launching later this year. In particular, Google will build a portal that includes search functions and social networking tools, as well as its Google Apps suite of productivity and communications applications, such as Google Talk. Sprint is also working with other developers to create a range of services that will work on any browser-equipped WiMAX device, including mobile phones.

People have been in such an uproar lately about Sprint not bidding on 700Mhz spectrum...

There ya go. Happy now? They are teaming with Google... who happens to want to spend BILLIONS on 700Mhz spectrum.

Sprint is an awesome choice for Google. Google is becoming Gigantic, the only question is, how strong is the partnership going to be, and what is it leading to? Sprint Stock seems to be almost the perfect amount for someone to buyout the $6 B company....
