Alltel has made mywaves' video content available to its subscribers for $3.99 per month. The mywaves BREW application, which subscribers download to their phones, lets users pick and choose from professional to personal videos that span genres such as comedy, music and technology. This includes access to channels such as CNN, HBO, Best of YouTube, and personal channels with user-generated content. Users can bookmark sites, as well as sign up for text message alerts to let them know when new content is available. Initially, the service will only work on the LG AX8600, Motorola RAZR V3m, V3c, KRZR K1m and e815, and the Samsung u520. More phones will be compatible with the service in the future. Data plan charges are separate, and an unlimited plan is recommended.
