The FCC today unveiled the Sanyo M1, a new clamshell from Sanyo rumored to be a high-end flagship for Sprint. The documents show the M1 to be an average sized clamshell just under an inch think, but is rumored to be packed with features. Features revealed in the FCC include EV-DO high speed data, an internal antenna, and Bluetooth. It is not confirmed whether this includes A2DP stereo Bluetooth as rumored, however the M1 is a music-centric phone with stereo speakers and external music controls. The M1 also features a 2 Megapixel camera with flash. The phone has also been rumored to have 1 GB of internal memory, but neither this nor the existence of a memory card slot are revealed by the documents.

this phone is gay!

Sonya never does make good phone. this one is not going to make any different.
The last time I checked I thought the company was named SANYO, you probably think they don't make good phones because you could never afford this phone. You need to learn how to spell, maybe you can find a phone that will help you do that.
Seriously, your post is pretty damn "gay" (and for a gay woman to use that term in that way is pretty extreme!). Seriously, this phone looks like it is actually pretty damn amazing. I have the 920 and love it, though I may have to trade it in earlier...

This thing looks

uughh.. Just uughh. Is it the uglier a phone is the better it operates? This thing is uglier han a man's ass. I'm not saying it's a hunk of crap because i still don't relly like the look of my 920 but the thing works great.
How do you know the size unless someone releases the specs? You cannot determine by that picture.

too late for me

i wish something like this was out a few months ago. i really wanted an mp3 phone and i had been with sprint for nearly 6 years. always great service and excellent call quality. but when it came time to upgrade my phone, i was so disappointed by the offerings. i really feel that sprint has lost touch with what consumers want. their limited phone company selection needs to change. their fusic just plain sucked (and navigation is awful on that phone!) and the samsung mp3 phone seemed flimsy to me. i finally left for another company that carried the sony walkman phones (the w810 is great)
i know when i was a sprint rep, people would always ask for phone from companies sprint didn't deal with.
i hope that this phone turns them around. ...

yOU MUST BE NUTZ CUZ THE FUSIC IS ONE OF THE BEST PHONES THAT I HAVE OWNED SINCE WORKING WITH AND HAVING SPRINT SERVICE. THE SAMSUNG BLADE AND A920 WERE BOTH GOOD PHONES AS WELL. IT HELPS TO KNOW WHAT YOU WANT WHEN LOOKING FOR A PHONE, AND YOU ALSO ...

Sprint is actually getting the RZR, KRZR, SLVR and Q so hopefully that will help the lineup. Don't expect to see the walkman phone with them though because I understand there has been some fallings out with Sony in the past.

Wow. You complain about the fusic that was rated really high. You are just picky. 🙄

I went to a conference recently and my Sanyo rep (Sanyo Steve for anyone else in the North West!) had a working one. I got to play with it a little and it seemed pretty sweet. It is not as big and bulky as it looks! (I thought it was HUGE until I h...

Atrocious

Not only is is the phone hideous like every other Sanyo clamshell released as of late, but the phone doesn't even have a TransFlash slot.

Great going Sanyo, releasing another POS.

Bluetooth 1.1, where is 2.0+ EDR?
25mm thick body? How about 20 you idiots
Hideous, hideous hinge, body. ehhh I guess it goes with Sanyo.

The fanboys are already freaking....I'm wondering what over.

it's about time

This is the first original, decent looking phone I have seen from sanyo. All previous ones have just looked like slight variations on their single, outdated design.

With the exception of the Katana, which is too expensive for its lackluster features, besides being an obvious clone.

Hopefully this phone marks a turnaround, so that Sanyos exclusive agreement with Sprint can actually start to HELP sprint.
