Sprint's Roaming Plan Now Includes Free 2G Data
Sprint today improved its international roaming plan, making it cheaper and more appealing to customers. Sprint customers can now enjoy free 2G data, free text messaging, and $0.20-per-minute voice calls in some 165 countries. Customers who want or need faster mobile data can pay for it on a daily basis directly from their phone. In Canada and Mexico, for example, LTE roaming costs $2 per day or $10 per week, while in most other countries LTE roaming cost $5 per day or $25 per week. Sprint says customers that subscribe to its Unlimited Freedom plan will receive free LTE high-speed data roaming, voice calling, and text messaging while traveling in Canada and Mexico. Sprint customers don't need to do anything ahead of time to take advantage of the free roaming services when traveling.
Sprint Debuts 'Open World' Canada and Mexico Calling Plan
Sprint today made it easier to call family and friends in Canada, Mexico, and other countries through its new Open World program. Sprint customers who enroll in Open World can call or text numbers in Canada and Mexico at no extra charge.
Verizon's 'TravelPass' Offers Roaming for $10 Per Day
Verizon Wireless is prepared to offer customers a new international roaming package called TravelPass. Verizon customers will be able to access their existing talk, text, and data buckets when roaming in 65 different countries for $10 per 24-hour period.
Sprint Expands Number of Countries in Roaming Program
Sprint today added seven countries to its International Value Roaming program. The program lets Sprint customers roam on 2G networks in select countries for free and offers reduced-rate voice minute calling for 20 cents per minute.

Sprint today added a couple new countries to its Open World roaming plan. The program kicked off in August with initial support for Canada, Mexico, and a handful of Latin American countries.
Verizon Extends Unlimited Mexico, Canada Roaming to Go Plans
Verizon Wireless today said subscribers to its Verizon Go Unlimited plan will soon be able to bring their unlimited calls, texts, and data with them when roaming in Mexico and Canada at no extra cost. Go Unlimited subscribers may also place unlimited calls from the U.S.
