Cingular today announced they will sell the Nokia E62 smartphone beginning September 29. The E62 is a slightly stripped down E61. it features the same QWERTY keyboard, S60 third edition operating system, mail clients and Bluetooth, however it lacks the UMTS and Wi-Fi of its European cousin. Cingular will sell the E62 for $150 with a 2 year contract.

good thing cingular is pushing their new 3g technology...

by not offering it on any damn phones they come out with. sure Cigular video is badass, and hbo mobile is badass, but seriously UMTS speeds would be amazing for a device this powerful.

Answer to the Q - But much better

I saw this phone in person, recently. It's very impressive. This device will be able to use just about any e-mail server, including blackberry ES. If it's really at $150 with a 2 yr, it's really going to be huge for the business consumer & Cingular. I only wish it had a camera. I probably won't buy it, though. I'm not a huge fan of QWERTY keyboards. I prefer T9. However, my next phone will be a Nokia, as soon as they come out with a new 3g flip.
