Motorola Breathes New Life Into RAZR With Tattoos

Motorola is due to add yet another option to the RAZR line up. In addition to launching the phone in a variety of colors, the company will begin offering the phone with a variety of tattoos later this year. The tattoos, designed by Ami James of Miami Ink fame, will be laser etched into the cover of the phone. He created a variety of pieces for Motorola, but so far the company has only shown off a model with a traditional dragon design. When launching the RIZR last month, Motorola showed off a few "tattoo" designs of its own etched behind the slide of that model, including a repeating pattern based on a Japanese crest as well as a traditional floral designs. The company has not indicated whether James's designs will be seen on the RIZR as well.

Love Ami's Stuff...

but ah... just sell the face plates and stop producing more of these pieces of...
I'd pay for one of his faceplates but... I'm an artist too, mine's just as cool, and was the stock plate for my phone. Just takes some time and a little creativity. geesh.
Yeah, well, creativity? These days? Too many people have forgotten about that oh-so-cool part of life.

When is it going to end!!

Damn, they are comming with new editions of the razr every week. They might as well just have removable cavers cause each one seems to have the same or identicle features.

Please stop

๐Ÿคฃ Tis is soo sad. The RAZR was cool when I first bought it for $500. When Walmart starts selling a phone, it's time to get a new one. What they are doing is the eqivalent of Honda selling me a 2004 civic, but with new features for the same price of a 2007 model. I hate that they continue to sell this phone, stop, please, for the love of God stop

Outer Screen - LCD?

Is this new? I wasn't aware of any Razr's that had an outer lcd screen.
Um, what are you talking about? All Razrs have an external LCD. I don't know what you've been looking at.

Trend Whore

Geeze what are they thinking, this is the perfect phone for some dude with spiked hair, pink "popped collar" polo shirt, Abercrombie ripped Jeans, flip flops, tribal tattoo on his arm, yellow Livestrong bracelet, and a hemp necklace around his neck.

Come on Motorola, stop with the Razor line, when they first came out they were different and cool, now every single person 10 years old and up has one of these phones.

I hate it when somebody comes in and acts all snoody because they think they are special just becasue they have a "Razr". People actually come in looking for accessories and say "I only want the best stuff, because my phone is The Razr". Well whoop de doo! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ ๐Ÿ˜ฒ ๐Ÿ˜ฒ ๐Ÿ˜ฒ ๐Ÿ˜ฒ ๐Ÿ˜ฒ
Motorola will drag this model to infinity just like it did the StarTAC.

heyyyy .. i wear popped collar polo's buuuuuuuut... thats about it out of that list... maybe the abercrombie.... but i havent worn that since high school
Well, what can you say. Some people are willing to pay an insane premium for their accessories. Moto managed to create a whole industry behind people who are crazy about their RAZR.

It seems i don't hear so much flak about the iPod and yet you st...

Why not get the most out of it? The RAZR is still the best selling phone. Only thing that bothers me is they should worry about getting the multimedia RAZR out to all of the carriers, not just different colors of the original. Not sure if it ever m...

Where's the Jesse James West Coast Chopper's RAZR, or the Pimp My RAZR West Coast Customs/GAS RAZR (That's right we hooked your RAZR up with 2 flat screens), or the Orange County Choppers RAZR or RAZR

It's sad isn't it? I'd love to run into a person who own both the RAZR and the iPod and bitch slap them. Very sad when there are much better products out there. Dumb a$$ attention whores and followers

This phone is definitelly waaaaaay overrated! there are many better phones out there.. will the razor hype ever die?

To all the QQ'rs/Cry babies

Jesus so many cry-babies. Get it through your skulls. The RAZR line is the best selling phone in history of all phones. The RAZR set the standard of how people like the shape and feel of a phone. If your so sick of stuff about RAZRS and moto products stop reading mobile phone web sites and go QQ somewhere else. People like me that sell mobile phones and are in the buisness enjoy new stuff no matter what it is. Jesus, you people are crying more than the default VZW UI.

As far as the designs go, I think thats awesome. There are some great airbrush artists that can create some dope designs to spice up the phones. Hopefully with the new RAZRS they make the shell easy to replace so people can change the look of there phone easier and collect ...

good point , it only sells well cause people who buy them are dumb, and 2nd the designs are not covered by the asurion.
...
bunch of whiney ass babies, jealous cuz they dont have one and they secretely want one, i dont want a razr but i do admit it is eye catching, some pple cant stand success and trends
As an accessories guy (I carry about 50,000 accessories in my store), we carry somewhere around 100 shells for the RAZR, not to mention the custom stuff we do with the airbrush guy down the hallway in my mall....

about as good as...

coffee can mufflers that make your car sound like
an outboard motor, spinning hubcaps, flames on the side of a rice burner FRONT wheel drive car, stereos that make the rust rattle on the car
from 3 blocks away....this is nothing more than
"pimp my ride" but with a stupid phone.

Forget the tattos, FIX THE OS

When is Motorola going to get of their a** and fix the crappy operating system. Who gives a rat's rear about a new look to the phone. ๐Ÿคจ
now those are innovative and completely re-vamped RAZRs ... Oh and I guess the RIZR too...

for the love of god...

NO MORE RAZRs
I think it's pretty! ๐Ÿ™‚

Still though, I would think that if a person was willing to drop some extra dough on a 'tattooed' version of this phone to distinguish him/herself from the crowd, s/he'd just get some custom etching done instead to truly s...
