Instagram Gives Storytellers Stickers and Other Tools
Instagram today introduced more ways for people to dress up their Instagram stories. First, stickers are now available for stories. People can easily customize their stories with weather data, time stamps, and location info. Viewers will be able to tap the stickers to learn more about locations tagged in stories. Stickers can be applied anywhere on stories, and can be resized as well. The photo-focused social network is offering up holiday-themed stickers packs for the next few weeks so users can share their holiday spirit. The app also gains a hands-free recording mode to make capturing video easier and the new freedom to add an unlimited amount of text to stories. Last, the iOS app allows Instagram users to save their stories to the camera roll as a single video. Instagram for iOS and for Android is free to download from the iTunes App Store and Google Play Store, respectively.
Instagram Rolls Out Disappearing Stories
Instagram today announced Instagram Stories, a new way to share photos and videos that is similar to Snapchat's Stories. With Stories, Instagram users can post as many photos and videos as they want throughout the day and customize them with text, stickers, and drawing tools.
Instagram Stories to Show Up In Explore Tab
Instagram today said it will begin to show Instagram Stories under the Explore tab in its mobile app. Instagram Stories, which are ephemeral like Snapchat posts, let people share everyday moments as photos and/or video clips strung together.
Instagram Adds Geostickers to Stories
Instagram has taken a page from Snapchat and given users in New York City and Jakarta access to geostickers for their stories. Instagram says more than a dozen location-specific stickers are available for the two cities, allowing people to add context to their stories.
Instagram Bows Location and Hashtag Search
Instagram today made it easier to find story content in its mobile app based on location or interests/topics. A new story ring now appears at the top of the explore section.
