The FCC today released documents for the Samsung A720, a new music-centric phone bound for Sprint. The A720 is a small, slim clamshell with an internal antenna. It features a new set of external media controls including a play/pause button, a playlist button and a touch-sensitive scroll bar to navigate through lists and songs. In addition to EV-DO high speed data, it features dual color displays, a camera and stereo Bluetooth. The manual included in the FCC filing does not indicate the resolution of the camera.

The design...

I think it's clear to see they were going for that iPod type of design. This phone does seem to lack that iPod charm though.
yeah it looks like the ipod Mini, w/ the anodized cover, i think sprint's marketing strategy is to release phones for music-centric people,

is it just me

or does it seem like this is has a vague sense of "ripoff" around it. it is not really a RAZR ripoff or a Fusic ripoff or even an ipod ripoff, but it seems like it somehow steals a little bit from all of them. i don't know, it just seems like many of samsungs phones just take ideas from other places without throwing in anything truly original. This seems to be better than some(the blade) though, so I look forward to see if samsung can bring out a counterpart to the Moto RAZR and the LG Chocolate that wows everybody without ripping off someone else.
it looks alot like the nokia 6170. check it out

sprints new flagship phone?

what do you guys think? The Blade(a900) got a price reduction so that shows a new phone was coming soon... soo think this ones going to take the place of the blade?
this could be the next big phone to hit Sprint. the A900 is one of the best phones i have ever used. i wouldnt have gotten rid of it but Samsung limited the GPS on it. HOPEFULLY THEY DON'T LIMIT THE GPS ON THE A720!!! i need telenav.
No. This phone is actually taking the place of the a920 which is going EOL sometime in August...

Mega3 (a990 variant) will be the flagship phone in Q4... shipping with a 3.2 megapixel camera.
