Twitter is allowing people take more control over their experience with the help of tools and filters. Twitter is expanding the availability of a quality filter from a subset of users (e.g., celebrity accounts) to all users. The quality filter can "improve the quality of Tweets you see by using a variety of signals, such as account origin and behavior." Twitter says at a base level the filter gets rid of low-quality content, such as duplicate or automated Tweets. The filter does not block the content from people that users follow or interact with. Twitter is improving how it handles notifications, as well. Everyone will have the ability to limit notifications to only the people they follow. Moreover, notifications can be accessed and managed directly in the notifications tab. The changes are rolling out to all users over the next few days.
