Jul 7, 2016, 10:10 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Apple today made iOS 10 available to the public in beta form. The public beta follows the recent release of iOS 10 Beta 2 for developers. People who choose to install the public beta of iOS 10 should expect some bugs and performance issues. Many, but not all, of iOS 10's new features are contained in the beta. The full release is scheduled for the fall. Core iOS 10 features include new support for third-party apps in Siri; refreshed iMessage, Maps, Photos, and News apps; expanded notifications on the lock screen; and more 3D Touch functionality. Apple also today released the first public beta of macOS Sierra. The big feature in Sierra is the addition of Siri to Apple's Mac computers. Both the iOS 10 and macOS Sierra betas are free to download and install from Apple's web site.
