Android Instant Apps Let Apps Run Even When Not Installed

Google today showed off what it calls Android Instant Apps. The idea here is to allow people to access content that's buried within apps that are not installed on their phone. For example, when people send a link to content that's contained within an app, the recipient will be able to click the link and view the content. Instant Apps will install only the bits of the app needed to run the requested content. Android Instant Apps are technically based on deep linking, explained Google, but still allow for most of the app's features to work even when the app is not on the phone. Google sees this as a way to convince more people to access or use content they might otherwise ignore because they don't have or use the specific app in question. Developers will need to configure their apps to perform instantly using Android Studio.
