Facebook Enables Group Calls from Messenger
Facebook today said group calling is now available within its Messenger app. Users around the globe can call any group by tapping on the phone icon in the conversation thread. Users will be able to manage individual participants before the call connects. Facebook says the feature is included in the newest version of Messenger, which may take up to 24 hours to appear for all users. Facebook Messenger is free to download from the iTunes App Store and Google Play Store.

Facebook today launched group video chats within Messenger. The tool will allow up to six participants to view one another in a live video call.

Facebook today said Facebook Messenger users will once again be able to send SMS messages — as long as they're running Android. Essentially, Android users can set Messenger as the default SMS app, which will route all SMS messages and conversations through Messenger rather than any other SMS apps that may be installed on the device.
Facebook Makes It Easy to Add People to Video Calls
Facebook today improved the video call tool in Facebook Messenger by making it a snap to add more people to the conversation. As it works today, creating group video calls requires people to initiate the call as such from the onset.
