Deutsche Telekom, the parent company of T-Mobile US, will not pursue any mergers or acquisitions for the Uncarrier while the FCC is holding its incentive spectrum auction. The information comes from unnamed sources cited by Reuters. The company has been trying to sell its stake in T-Mobile for years, but will put those plans on hold until after the auction concludes. T-Mobile has promised to participate vigorously in the auction for 600 MHz airwaves, which is seen as the last opportunity to score low-band spectrum. T-Mobile has reserved up to $10 billion to spend in the auction. AT&T and Verizon Wireless plan to participate, as well. The auction is expected to take several months to complete.
