Sprint Announces 'Better Choice' Plans for Shared Data

Sprint today announced a revamped line of plans for multiple lines called Better Choice Plans. The plans mimic Verizon's in that they range from Extra Small to Extra Extra Large and are shared across devices. The Extra Small plan includes 1 GB of data for $20, the Small plan jumps to 3 GB for $30, followed by the Medium with 6 GB for $45, Large with 12 GB for $60, Extra Large with 24 GB for $80 and Extra Extra Large with 40 GB for $100. These prices don't include line access fees or handset lease payments. Sprint is also still offering its unlimited plan to four lines for $150, and will pay up to $650 to those who switch from a competing carrier. The Sprint Better Choice Plans will be available starting February 19.

Google's MVNO Google Fi has added a new, cheaper Unlimited plan option. The old Unlimited plan is unchanged except it's now called Unlimited Plus.

US Mobile Intros New Affordable Shared Plans

US Mobile today introduced a new category of plans that makes family plans more affordable than ever. The new Pooled Plan lets multiple lines share a set, customizable amount of data, as a cheaper alternative to unlimited plans (which US Mobile continues to offer.) Monthly pricing for Pooled Plans is $9/line, plus $2 per GB of shared 4G/5G data.

T-Mobile Maps its Expanded High-Speed 5G Coverage

As T-Mobile continues to expand its 5G network, PCMag reports that the company has updated its coverage maps to differentiate between its faster "Ultra Capacity" 5G and its slower but more widely-available "Extended Range" 5G. T-Mobile's 5G Ultra Capacity network uses a mid-band frequency (2.5 GHz, AKA band 41, which was inherited from Sprint) that offers faster data speeds than most sub-6 GHz 5G, and much better coverage than mmWave 5G.

Verizon has made a handful of changes to its unlimited plans, giving some customers a better value. The basic structure and pricing remain unchanged, but some plans now come with more data.

Nice prices.

It's a shame that their prices apparently don't even support their network, considering what they're doing.

GG Sprint. Have another go when you get enough funding to make a network that has more than the "net" part.
