Microsoft today said owners of handsets running Windows Phone 8 / 8.1 will have to wait a bit longer to receive Windows 10. The update was originally expected to arrive this month, but Microsoft has now delayed the rollout. "This November we introduced Windows 10 to phones including brand new features such as Continuum and Universal Windows Apps with the introduction of the Lumia 950 and 950 XL. The Windows 10 Mobile upgrade will begin rolling out early next year to select existing Windows 8 and 8.1 phones." Microsoft has not defined exactly which devices will receive the update, nor did it provide any explanation for delaying the Windows 10 update. In other Microsoft news, the company released a new Technical Preview for Windows Insiders today. Build 10586.36 further refines performance of the platform.
