Yahoo Adds Gmail Support to Yahoo Mail
Yahoo Mail today gained the ability to manage Gmail and Google Apps accounts. Yahoo relaunched the app in October and made it compatible with AOL, Hotmail, and Outlook. Now it works with Google's email service, too. Yahoo says Gmail users will be able to take advantage of inbox search, smart contacts, and the Yahoo Account Key for password-free sign-ins. Gmail support is available in Yahoo Mail for Android, iOS, and the web globally starting today. Separately, Yahoo Mail for iOS gains support for split-screen multitasking on the iPad and Yahoo Mail for Android brings back the "select all" tool. The app is free to download from the iTunes App Store and Google Play Store.
Yahoo Mail for iOS Adds Themes, Support for 3D Touch
Yahoo today rolled out an update to its iOS email application and added several new features. To start, users can now select from a number of different colored themes and can go so far as to set a different theme for each managed account (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail email addresses) to make them easier to separate.
Yahoo Mail Now Supports Multiple Accounts
Yahoo today rolled out a new version of its Mail application for the iPhone and added the ability to use multiple email accounts. The app now supports Yahoo, Outlook, and AOL email services and can be used to manage a handful of accounts from a single inbox.
Yahoo Updates Mail for Android and iOS with Customizable Swipes
Yahoo today made new versions of Yahoo Mail available to Android and iOS devices. The refreshed email application brings customizable swiping gestures to both platforms.
Yahoo Improves Search In Mobile Browsers
Yahoo today said it has refreshed how it displays mobile search results in a way that will help people find what they're looking for quicker. Yahoo explains that rather than offer lists of links, the new search presents results — including images, videos, news, and other details — prominently in a way that's more useful.
