Google today updated its Chromecast Audio product with high-resolution audio and multi-room syncing. Google says Chromecast Audio can support music up to 96KHz/24bit for lossless playback. Chromecast Audio now lets people sync multiple devices in separate rooms so the same music can be played throughout the house. An updated version of the Chromecast app makes its possible to create groups of speakers. Casting to the group sends the music to every speaker in the group. The latest version of Chromecast is available in the Google Play Store and iTunes App Store beginning today. Chromecast Audio is a $35 dongle that connects directly to stereo systems and/or speakers. It streams from sources such as Pandora, Spotify, and Google Music via WiFi.
