Pebble Testing Newest Firmware On Older Smartwatches

Article Comments

Dec 9, 2015, 3:10 PM   by Eric M. Zeman

Pebble is allowing a limited number of people to test Pebble 3.8 on the Pebble Classic and Pebble Steel. Pebble introduced the new operating system on newer smartwatches earlier this year, but it said it would develop the OS for its original wearables. Today's news marks Pebble's commitment to that promise. The chief benefit of Pebble 3.8 is the timeline user interface and jump to unlimited apps. The beta is available only to people with Android phones, though Pebble said it will eventually release an iOS version of the improved firmware, too. People interested in testing can apply through Pebble's Google+ Community page.
