Sprint Offering $20 LTE Starter Plan
Sprint today added a new option to its list of service plans. The Starter Unlimited Data Plan includes 1GB of high-speed data and unlimited 2G data for $20 per month. Sprint says subscribers to this plan will have the option to buy access to more LTE data, but they won't be hit with overage charges. Unlimited talk and text costs another $20. Together, 1GB of LTE data and unlimited talk and text costs $40 per month. Sprint is making a similar alteration to its Sprint Family Share Pack. Subscribers to family plans will have access to unlimited 2G data if they burn through their LTE 4G allotment. They, too, will have the option to buy more high-speed access at $15 per 1GB. Last, Sprint has raised the price of its Unlimited High-Speed Data Plan, which includes 3GB of mobile hotspot data and unlimited talk/text/LTE, to $70 per month. All these options include Sprint Global Roaming and are available starting Oct. 30.
Sprint Debuts Unlimited Plan of Its Own
Sprint today announced Unlimited Freedom, a service plan that provides unlimited talk, text, and data for two lines at $100 per month. Sprint says the Unlimited Freedom plan offers "optimized streaming" for "video, gaming, and music" and "unlimited LTE data for most everything else." Specifically, video resolution is capped at 480p resolution when streamed over the network, while games are capped at 2Mbps, and music is capped at 500Kbps.
Sprint Ups the Ante with $150 Unlimited Family Bundle
Sprint today announced a new promotion that will give a family of four unlimited talk, text, and data for $150 per month. A single line for the unlimited plan costs $75 per month.
Verizon Debuts $80 Unlimited Plan for Prepaid Service
Verizon Wireless today added an unlimited data option to its series of prepaid plans. According to Verizon's web site, the new $80 plan includes unlimited high-speed service without a contract, though video is capped at 480p and prepaid customers may see slower speeds when the network is congested.
T-Mobile Gives MetroPCS Unlimited Music Streaming, Too
MetroPCS today announced a handful of new features that mirror services offered by its parent company, T-Mobile. First, MetroPCS customers now have access to Music Unlimited, which, like T-Mobile's Music Freedom, lets customers stream unlimited music over LTE without impacting their monthly data allotment.
