The FCC has delivered more licenses to winners of the AWS-3 spectrum auction, which concluded earlier this year. The bulk of licenses granted this week were given to Orion Wireless LLC and Geneseo Communications Services, and cover areas of Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, and Wisconsin. The AWS-3 spectrum falls in the 1755-1780Mhz and 2155-2180Mhz bands. The FCC handed out the bulk of the licenses to auction winners earlier this year. The FCC, which recently determined that Dish Networks' designated entities don't qualify for small business discounts, has yet to give Dish its spectrum licenses. Dish Networks spent $13.3 billion in the auction.
