Cricket Scores Distribution Deal with Meijer Stores

Cricket Wireless today said its goods and services will be available at 213 Meijer stores across the midwest beginning June 27. Consumers in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky will be able buy prepackaged phone kits from phone makers such as HTC, Samsung, and ZTE. The stores will also sell Cricket's universal SIM card kits for those who already have a compatible device. Cricket Wireless is owned and operated by AT&T.

Motorola has announced the 2024 editions of the moto g 5G and moto g power 5G, priced at $200 and $300, respectively (MSRP, unlocked). Both phones offer 5G, a vegan leather finish on the back, 120 Hz display refresh, 50 megapixel main camera, 5,000 mAh battery, 128 GB storage (expandable), NFC, fingerprint reader (on the side), and a headset jack.

The person doing this story didn't do enough research on the company. They have 2 stores in the Milwaukee market of Wisconsin as we speak (Kenosha & Grafton), with Greenfield & Wauwautosa opening later this year. Since AT&T is in that market, they're not going to exclude Meijer Wisconsin stores from the distribution deal. As for Meijer, good for them for adding another MVNO to the list of available services to buy from Meijer. Meijer recently added MetroPCS to their stores as well. That deal however seems to be coming at the expense of T-Mobile's prepaid service, since I'm slowly seeing T-Mobile phones & prepaid cards being pushed out of their stores.
