Google today pushed out a minor update to its Messenger application for Android phones. The primary new feature included in the update is support for GIFs, which can be used to liven up conversations. The app also has a new home screen widget and general performance improvements. Google Messenger, which provides SMS and MMS messaging, is free to download from the Google Play Store.

About time!

How difficult is it to include GIF support on messengers? I honestly want to know because FB messenger (both the app and the pc version) and FB itself don't have this and as far as I know neither does Whatsapp.
