ARM today said it has acquired Offspark, a Dutch company that makes security software for the internet of things. ARM designs mobile processors, but also has an IoT platform called mbed. ARM will add Offspark's PolarSSL encryption software to its own platform. According to ARM, many of the companies making IoT equipment already use ARM processors. By adding PolarSSL to mbed, ARM will have a more complete solution to offer its customers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
