Moto G Earns Android 5.0 Lollipop Update

Motorola today began pushing Android 5.0 Lollipop to the second-generation Moto G in the U.S. The update is being delivered in phases over the next few weeks. Motorola hasn't indicated if the first-generation Moto G will receive the update, too. Motorola has already delivered Lollipop to the second-generation Moto X.

Android 5.0.2 is available for first Gen Moto G

While the official Android 5 (Lollipop) ROM is going through soak tests, albeit not to successfully, there are several custom Lollipop ROMS are available. The best of the crop is "Candy5" available at

It is based mainly on Cyanogenmod 12 and a few others. it is the most feature complete Lollipop rom available.

It is a bit rough around the edges, but still functional.
