Dobson Buys Cellular One Name

Dobson Wireless today announced they will buy the Cellular One brand from Alltel. After Alltel purchased Western Wireless which owned the Cellular One name, Dobson was named as the most likely company to purchase the brand. Dobson already operates under the Cellular One brand and before Alltel's purchase of Western, was the second largest carrier to use it. The $1.3 Million purchase is still subject to regulatory approval, but is expected to close before the end of the year.
GameStop Buys More than 500 AT&T Retail Stores
GameStop today said it has finalized the acquisition of three AT&T retailers, giving it some 507 authorized AT&T shops. The company completed its purchase of Cellular World Corp., Midwest Cellular, Inc., and Red Skye Wireless, Inc.
Western Digital Agrees to Buy SanDisk for $19 Billion
Western Digital and SanDisk today announced plans to merge businesses. Western Digital primarily makes hard disk drives for computers and servers, while SanDisk primarily makes memory cards for phones, tablets, laptops, and cameras.
T-Mobile To Buy iWireless
T-Mobile today announced that it will become the sole owner of iWireless (Iowa Wireless), expanding T-Mobile's reach in the Iowa area. iWireless is a leading regional wireless provider serving Iowa, western Illinois, and eastern Nebraska with 103 full service company stores and authorized dealers that serve approximately 75,000 customers.

U.S. Cellular recently revealed that it has forged its first LTE roaming partnership, and customers will reap the benefits in two to three months.
