Apple Adds Extras to iTunes, iOS 8
Apple today released iTunes 11.3 and discussed new features headed to the iPhone and iPad later this year. iTunes 11.3 adds new support for "extras" that are often available with purchases of HD movies. Extras typically contain interviews, shorts, and other production content associated with movies. Moving forward, extras will be added to prior HD movie purchases automatically. Extras will also become available for viewing on the Apple TV for the first time. Last, extras will be available to devices running iOS 8 when it launches later this year. Apple is currently beta testing iOS 8, which is expected to debut in September or October.

Apple has made iOS 8.4 Beta 4 available to developers for testing. The latest iOS 8 beta adds a new version of the music application ahead of Apple Music's debut later this month.
Airplay Support Comes to Google Play Movies for iOS
Google has updated its Play Movies & TV app for iOS devices and added direct Airplay support for streaming to the Apple TV. Play Movies users have been able to push content to the Apple TV for a while, but it involved a workaround.

Google is offering iOS users a way to beta test a new version of Chrome thanks to Apple's TestFlight service. The iTunes App Store doesn't support true beta testing, and iOS devices cannot install apps from any source other than the App Store.
iTunes Update Adds iOS 9 Support, 2-Factor Authentication
Following the general release of iOS 9, Apple has pushed out an update to its iTunes app for computers. The revised media app adds support for iOS 9 and introduces two-factor authentication for securing the owner's Apple ID.
