Vine Updated with Loop Counts and New Design
Vine has updated its Android and iOS applications and added several new features to the video-sharing social network. The app now displays loop counts, which show how many times individual Vine videos have been played by others. Vine refreshed the design of the app, cleaning up the look and making videos larger. Last, Vine redesigned the Activity screen, which now provides more info about account milestones and makes other notifications easier to discern. Vine is free to download from the Google Play Store and the iTunes App Store.

Vine today announced a significant shakeup to its core product that it hopes will entice more people to use the video-looping app. Vine is now allowing people to capture and attach video up to 140 seconds, a huge increase from the 6-second limit that's been a core part of the service since it launched.
Instagram to Reveal How Many Times Videos Are Watched
Instagram today said users will soon see how many views their video posts receive. Instagram says it is adding this data because view counts are "the most widely expected form of feedback on video." The view count will appear where previously the app showed the number of likes.
