Verizon's Billing System Takes a Tumble
Verizon Wireless today confirmed that its billing system is experiencing problems, and in some case preventing customers from accessing or adjusting their accounts. The outages appear to be limited to several states in the northeast, midwest, and south. The problem is not impacting Verizon's cellular network. The company did not say what caused the problem, how many customers are affected, nor how long it might take to resolve.

Apple Releases iOS 10.0.2 to Fix Bugs
Apple today made iOS 10.0.2 available to iPhones and iPads in order to resolve some bugs. According to Apple, the small update addresses a problem impacting audio controls, fixes an issue that prevents some app extensions from working, and solves a bug that caused Photos to crash.
Verizon's Billing System Restored
Verizon Wireless said its billing system was restored fully early today. The company explained that a software update performed two days ago led to the problem, which prevented customers from accessing their accounts.
AT&T Landline Issue Halts Southeast Wireless Networks
AT&T said a problem with its wireline network was to blame for spotty cellular coverage in portions of Alabama, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee this evening. AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless customers in those four states reported connectivity issues starting in the late afternoon.
Verizon Settles with FCC Over 911 Outage
The FCC today said Verizon has settled with the agency over an outage that affected 911 operations last year. In April 2014, 750,000 Verizon Wireless customers in nine California counties were unable to reach 911 for a period lasting 6 hours.
