Opera Software today released a brand new version of Opera Mini for the iPhone. The light-weight browser has been redesigned from the ground up and now more closely matches the native user interface of iOS 7. It includes several themes so users can pick the appearance that suits them best. The browser offers three distinct modes for surfing the web. Opera Mini Mode uses server-side compression to crush web sites down by 90% in order to reduce mobile data usage. Opera Turbo Mode uses less compression and offers a more desktop-like browsing experience. Data Savings Off discards the use of compression for full web site compatibility. Opera Mini now has a combined search and address bar, adds a QR reader, makes editing URLs easier with a slide bar, and lets users select their favorite search tool, such as IMDB, Amazon, eBay, and Wikipedia. Opera Mini 8 is available from the iTunes App Store today. It is free.
